I discovered this drink a few years ago working as a foodstylist on a television show. The guest had featured this from her cookbook on the cooking segment and I changed and added a few things to meet my families tastes. Golden Milk is a great warm beverage to have at the end of the day. My wife and I swear by it and believe it calms the kids down little before bed. Hope you enjoy !


Prep Time: 5 minutes Serves: 4

Cook time: less than 10 minutes


3 cups coconut milk (un-sweetened)

5 tsp. Honey

1 tsp. Coconut Oil

1/2 tsp. Fresh grated ginger

1/2 tsp. Fresh grated turmeric

1/4 tsp. Fresh grated cinnamon (from the jar is okay)

Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Splash of vanilla

Pinch of fresh black pepper

Pour the coconut milk into a small sauce pan and turn on to medium-low heat. Add the honey, coconut oil, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and black pepper.

Bring the mixture to a simmer while whisking it to prevent it from burning. No need to bring it to a boil or scald it.

After simmering for about three minutes turn off the heat and let the ingredients steep for a few minutes before serving. As always feel free to adjust the taste by adding or taking away things like vanilla or nutmeg, possibly using rice milk or almond milk.

If you prefer to have zero pieces of anything in your drink than press it through a cheese cloth or a paper coffee strainer.
